What’s Unfolding at The Shoppe | May

at 18 Mile Creek Shoppe

There’s something deeply satisfying about the arrival of May.

The leaves are finally back on the trees, the air feels softer, and after what felt like a long, lingering winter - we made it through! There’s a sense that we can step outside again, breathe a little deeper, and return to the rhythms that only this season brings.

Spring invites us into the light, into nature, into longer days spent walking, gathering, and simply being. And with that return of light comes a return of energy; the kind that nudges us to begin again, to take action on the ideas we’ve been holding onto through the colder months.

At The Shoppe at 18 Mile Creek, this season feels like a reawakening. A time to move, to create, and to follow through on what’s been quietly growing beneath the surface.

Below is a glimpse of what’s unfolding this May.

Well, we made it to Spring! It’s funny how winter can feel like it stretches on forever, and then suddenly spring arrives and everything begins to move too quickly. I find myself wanting to soak up every bit of this season and excited to spend days outside again… Speaking of - I know many of you (myself included) have been eagerly awaiting the greenhouse events and all the plans we’ve been sharing. Well, as life sometimes goes, we are still waiting for its availability due to circumstances out of our control… I’ll be honest, waiting is not my strongest suit, but I’m holding onto a hopeful outlook that we’ll be welcoming you into those greenhouse gatherings very soon! And if there’s one thing I know, it’s that the energy you all bring into the shoppe has a way of moving things forward.

In the meantime, there’s so much happening here. We’ve welcomed a number of new artisans into the shoppe, we’re getting our in shoppe products online, and we’ve begun creating some of our own in house products, including refillable items we’re really excited to share with you (more on that below).

As always, thank you for supporting small businesses, local makers, and spaces built with intention and care. I’m so grateful you’re here!

XO

New in the Shoppe: Refillable Products!

We’re so happy to introduce something we’ve been quietly making in-house. Our own natural + biodegradable in-house laundry detergent and all purpose cleaner. Caroline has been making her own natural + biodegradable products for herself for years. And now she is bringing them into the shoppe for purchase! Made with gentle ingredients that care for your clothes, your skin, and the earth all at once. True to our shoppe, it’s simple, intentional, and rooted in the belief that even everyday rituals can feel good and do good. Available in natural pine or softly scented with jasmine, bergamot, or a custom blend made just for you, this is our way of bringing a little more care into the ordinary. No fluff, no chemicals, just lovingly made for you….and the even cooler part - we are now offering refills! This includes our laundry soap, room+linen sprays, all purpose cleaners, in-house candles and more.

Artisan Spotlight:

Kasia Bookmiller of

Buffalo Gal Organics

ABOUT - Buffalo Gal Organic Skincare was founded in 2010 by Chemist + Holistic Practitioner, Kasia Bookmiller, with a mission to provide quality, plant based skincare that is good for you inside + out. As a busy working Mom of two beautiful daughters, she started with a simple lotion to help their contact dermatitis. That little side hustle turned into a passion for bringing quality, non toxic skincare to women that wanted a better, safer option for their skin.  As a Medicinal Chemist, Kasia's experience in formulation and R+D led her to dive deeper into the mechanism of how ingredients work in skin structure and how each part of the puzzle should fit for skincare that is effective, nutritive and non sensitizing.
